The Challenge: Outgrowing the Past

There comes a time in a property’s life when a modest, tired plunge pool simply no longer cuts the mustard. Our clients in El Campello loved their villa, but their existing swimming pool was, to put it politely, a relic of a bygone era. As you can clearly see in the demolition image, the original structure was uninspiring, cramped, and long overdue for an architectural intervention.

When it comes to high-end pool reconstruction in Spain, minor patchwork is rarely the answer. True luxury requires a clean slate. We brought in the heavy JCB machinery to mercilessly strip away the old, failing structure and excavate the surrounding garden, preparing the ground for a complete spatial reinvention.

The Process: Expanding Horizons

As leading custom pool builders in Alicante, our mandate was to transform this restricted footprint into a sprawling aquatic centrepiece. The solution was a massive expansion, carving out a generous 16x6m rectangular pool designed for actual morning lengths rather than merely dipping one’s toes.

Constructing a pool of this magnitude requires absolute structural precision. We excavated significantly further into the existing garden to accommodate the new dimensions, reinforcing the entire perimeter to withstand the sheer weight of the Mediterranean water. We also integrated wide, elegant internal steps spanning the corner, offering a seamless, shallow entry point that completely modernises the user experience compared to the antiquated steel ladders of the past.

The Aesthetics: Pearlescent Brilliance

With the structural integrity flawlessly executed, we turned our focus to the premium finishes that define bespoke swimming pools on the Costa Blanca. We lined the entire expanded shell with exquisite pearlescent blue mosaic tiles. Unlike flat, standard ceramics, this pearlescent finish catches the Spanish sunlight, creating a mesmerising, shimmering effect that shifts beautifully throughout the day.

To anchor this magnificent new water feature, we executed a complete pool terrace installation. As showcased in the breathtaking final result, we surrounded the water with expansive, light-toned architectural paving. This minimalist stone not only remains wonderfully cool underfoot but also provides a stark, clean contrast to the vibrant blue mosaic. Paired with a discreet, integrated roller cover to maintain the pristine water quality, this space has been entirely reborn. It is the ultimate modern pool design, turning a neglected backyard into a highly coveted outdoor sanctuary.
